This position supports kinship caregivers by assisting with public benefit applications, coordinating community resources, and ensuring families remain connected to necessary services; the position offers follow-up services and provide back up assistance to the program manager as needed. - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC internal and external customers.
- Collaborate across teams, including case managers, child protection investigators, and other stakeholders, as well as community resources, to coordinate and align services.
- Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations and service providers.
- Educate families on eligibility criteria and assist with applications for public benefits such as cash assistance, SNAP, and others.
- Provide follow-up to ensure families are connected to and actively receiving the correct benefits and services.
- Attend case transfer and placement staffings to provide input, ensure continuity of support for kinship families, and assess family strengths, needs, and priorities.
- Coordinate caregiver appreciation efforts to recognize and support kinship caregivers.
- Encourage participation in and/or facilitate kinship support groups, events, trainings, and workshops.
- Support children living with kinship caregivers to remain safely outside of foster care.
- Serve as lead specialist for kinship caregivers living out of county, ensuring their connection to supports, services, and benefits, including follow-up on out-of-county services requested for Level 1 licensure.
- Ensure families have ongoing linkages to community supports and resources.
- Conduct follow-ups to verify that families maintain benefits after closure from peer navigator assignments or upon Permanent Guardianship closure.
- Provide backup support to the program manager as needed, including assistance with administrative tasks, supervision, and assignment coordination.
- Perform special projects as assigned.

Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field. Two years of experience working with children, adolescents and families is required.

Florida Child Welfare Certification preferred.
